Steel door frames shall conform to the specification of
ANSI A 250.8-2003/HMMA 861-06/SDI 100.
D SERIES frames from 1-3/4” doors are formed from commercial quality cold rolled steel conforming to ASTM A1008/A 1008M-02, A653/A 653M-01 Galvanized or A666-00 Stainless Steel.
Door frames , side lites, transom and borrowed lites are supplied knock down (KD). Welded unit is optional with all exposed welds ground smooth. Integral door stop are 16mm high, frame faces are 50mm. Double rabbet, single rabbet, case open or kerf profiles are set to suit wall applications. Adjustable compression type anchor are welded to jambs and allow frames installation, plumbing and squaring after wallboard is applied. Components have backbend-returns that protect the wall surface during installation. Still anchors is by means of screw through dimpled holes in faces.
Frames are handed. Hinges jambs are mortised for 4.0”, 4-1/2” or 5” high, standard or heavy weight hinges. 4.5mm steel reinforcement are welded in place and are drilled and tapped for fasteners in accordance with ANSI A156.7-2009. The strike jambs is prepared for 2-3/4”, 4-7/8” universal strike in accordance with ANSI A115.1&2 or Euro strike. Plaster guard are provided. Hardware reinforcement meet or exceeds ANSI A250.6-2003 (R2008).
Doors shall be provided one coat of oven–cured neutral color primer paint. Primer coat shall conform with ANSI A250.10-1998 (R2004) The primer coat is preparatory base for necessary finish paint.
